books and authors.

Today I will write about books. I love reading. Sometimes I can finish a book in one sitting. I've noticed that every author has his/her own genre. For example if u read Danielle Steel's  books, well they're mostly sappy love stories.

I love Haruki Murakami. His books mostly contain a lot of metaphors, so you can interpret however you like, according to your own understandings. My favourite is 'Norwegian Wood', but this book is kinda like a biography, so there's no metaphors whatsoever in it but to me it's a good read. Another one is 'Kafka on the Shore'. This one is purely fictional and contains a lot of metaphors. Sometimes I wonder where does Murakami get the ideas to write such books. It's wacky and sometimes outrageous. However, some people might not like his books, you either love it or you'll completely hate it. In my case, I love it.

Cecilia Ahern is another favourite. I like her books because although mostly her books are about love, it is the type of love stories that I like. I love 'Thanks for the Memories', 'Where Rainbows End' and of course the ever popular 'P.S. I Love You', but my favourite book of hers must be ' A Place Called Here'. It is not a love story, it's a story about a girl that is lost in a place called 'here'. It's a very interesting read, and somewhat fulfilling. I don't know how to describe it better, but while reading it, I just feel 'full'. Nevermind, maybe that's just me.

Jodi Picoult's books are mostly about diseases. So far I've read 'Change of Heart' and 'My Sister's Keeper'. All I can say is, they are not my cups of tea. I don't like stories about illness and deaths.

I also love Alan Bradley. So far he has only published 3 books, and I've read 2. His first book is 'The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie' and his second book is ' The Weed that Strings the Hangman's Bag'. Personally, I love the first book better. In his second book, he kinda lost his wittiness.

Judith McNaught was banned during my school years and Sidney Sheldon got laughed at my English teacher. I have yet to read Paulo Coelho's books, although I do follow him on Twitter. LOL.
